2013 High Efficiency HVAC Tax Credit

The 25C Tax Credit made its way into the “Fiscal Cliff” deal, which Congress passed this week and was signed into law by President Obama.  The credit is essentially the same as the 2011 credit… it was simply renewed retro-actively for 2012 and through the end of 2013.  Homeowners who have not used the credit in the past are eligible for a tax credit up to 10% of the cost of installing high efficiency HVAC equipment.  The maximum credit is $150 for a furnace or boiler, $300 for an A/C, heat pump, or water heater, and $50 for the fan system for a total maximum of $500.
